Project "European citizenship"
Entrance to the gallery Our project "European citizenship" aims at developing an active European citizenship both in school and in society in which we live, along with the exchange of cultural traditions, attitudes and values to compare the countries participating in the project.
Crucial for us would be to find space for realizing the objectives of civic education in the curricula of different schools: general, vocational, technical, to clarify how other countries achieve similar objectives, and to define what it means for students to be " good citizen. " We also hope that the project will contribute to the effort to fight prejudice, increase tolerance, to encourage democratic values, to improve communication skills and knowledge of foreign languages. Through interaction with local authorities and organizations, students will be able to develop skills in project management, to acquire research skills. In addition, teachers will be involved in implementing cross-curricular, will acquire better skills in information technology. The project will contribute to the sharing of ideas, concerns and priorities through the exchange of knowledge, best practices and experiences and to generate a deeper interest in active citizenship.
We intend to achieve our goals developed through detailed three-year scheme of work. Activities such as presentations, surveys, questionnaires, meetings with representatives of government and political parties, debates, school festivals, video conferencing and more. will be an integral part of our project. During one of the meetings of the project we intend to visit the European Parliament in Brussels and Debating the issues of citizenship. Exchange of students and regular project meetings will enable us to analyze, adjust and improve our work.
The results of the work will be published and distributed. Booklet describing the content and methods of civic education on national and European level; CD-s, web site design, collages and posters will show the importance of such a project. We intend to spread your expertise through articles in newspapers and magazines, mini-exhibitions, presentations on local radio and television and by conducting regional workshops.
