Project “Media Education in Schools: Possibilities and Challenges”Our presentation Our project “Media Education in Schools: Possibilities and Challenges” aims to look at possibilities of adoption of media education in our schools as well as at the content and pedagogy of media education curriculum. Participating in this project will help students become more media literate people and better citizens who understand that media are constructed to convey ideas, information and news from someone else's perspective; who can identify media techniques and their intended and actual effects; who are aware that the media benefit some people, but leave others out; who seek alternative sources of information and entertainment; who use the media for their own advantage and enjoyment; who know how to act, rather than being acted upon. Moreover, the project is designed for developing the critical thinking skills that help young people navigate through traditional media; helping prepare students for life in society, i.e. gain the knowledge, skills, abilities and competence to communicate, critique, create, care and contribute; teaching students to be safe and responsible on-line; involving students into conducting original research through doing media projects so that they can learn to effectively interview, observe and record individuals and groups while researching favourite TV programs, bands and celebrities. |

Practical Hours in Business Administration |

|
Project ‘Development of European Dimensions for Practical Hours in Business Administration’ Our project ‘Development of European Dimensions for Practical Hours in Business Administration’ finds its application in the sphere of tourism and small and medium business. Our regional interests are closely tied to the international market with tourism, small&medium business, as well as natural resource development. That is why our ambition is to help our students keep pace with the quickly changing business environment at all levels. Participation in the Leonardo da Vinci Programme made it possible for our students to have practical hours abroad, which offered them access to education that addresses all the needs arising from the growth of the European community. |

European Citizenship |

Project “European Citizenship”
Our School Project “European Citizenship” is aimed at developing an attitude of active European Citizenship within the school and community and exchanging culture and heritage, attitudes and values in order to compare and contrast participating countries. It is of great importance for us to find out if there is the cross-curriculum goal “education for the citizenship“ in various types of secondary schools: general, vocational, technical; how other countries reach the goal as well as what “to be good citizens and European citizens“ means for the students. We also hope the project promotes willingness to avoid prejudice within the E.U., increases tolerance, encourages democratic values and improves the communication skills and foreign language fluency. Being brought into cooperation with local authorities and associations, the students will be able to develop specific skills of project management, to learn more about doing research work. Besides that, teachers will get actively involved in cross-curricular work, obtain better IT skills and technological culture. The project will contribute to sharing problems, ideas and priorities through the exchange of knowledge, good practice and experience as well as to generating a greater interest to active citizenship and social inclusion.
